Safety Tips

We are dedicated to aggressively defending your DUI charges in order to minimize the consequences wherever possible. However, these consequences increase in severity with repeat offenses and the best way to avoid them is to avoid driving under the influence completely!

Here are some safety tips to help minimize the risk of driving while impaired by drugs and/or alcohol:

Before you start drinking, designate a non-drinking or ‘sober’ driver in your social group. If you all take turns it means everyone gets to enjoy a night on the town, but no-one has to risk a DUI!

Never allow friends or family to drive their vehicle while impaired.

If you have been drinking or using drugs, arrange for a ride home or use a taxi or rideshare service to get home safely.

If you are hosting a party and are serving alcohol remind your guests to plan how to get home. BE sure to offer non-alcoholic beverages for the designated drivers.

Even prescription medications can cause a DUI! Check the label for side effects and do not drive if you are drowsy or otherwise affected. Talk to a doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure if it is safe to drive while taking a certain medication.

It is possible to purchase home testing kits to check your own blood alcohol level. This is particularly useful for the morning after!

Above all else – if you are in any doubt about your ability to drive safely – don’t do it!
It’s better to be safe than sorry!
